Acuity Specialty Hospital of New Jersey names Haitham R. Dib, M.D. FACC, FACP chief medical officer

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Acuity Healthcare, a privately-held
Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital company today announced appointment
of Haitham R. Dib, M.D., as chief medical officer of its new 30-bed
LTAC hospital, which will open later this month in Atlantic City. In
his new role, Dib will draw on his extensive clinical and leadership
experience to provide coordination of all clinical and administrative
policies of Acuity Specialty Hospital of New Jersey.
The new facility, Acuity Specialty Hospital of New Jersey will be located at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC), City Campus, Atlantic City. As the first Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) in this region of New Jersey, it represents a major new healthcare resource for patients and traditional hospitals. The facility will provide intensive acute care services to medically complex and critically ill patients requiring extended hospital stays averaging 25 days.
Most recently, Dib served as president of Atlantic Cardiology, LLC. He is director of Division of Cardiology at ARMC and associate chairman of the hospital’s Critical Care Department. Previously, at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Dib served as medical director of the Intensive/Coronary Care Unit, and chief of the Department of Medicine. He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians as well as a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians.

Dib earned his medical degree from Damascus University, in Damascus, Syria, and postgraduate training residency at ARMC. He completed fellowships in critical care medicine at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center in Camden, NJ and in cardiology at the Guthrie Clinic, PA. He holds certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in the fields of internal medicine, critical care medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Acuity Healthcare, which specializes in establishing and operating LTAC hospitals nationwide, partnered with AtlantiCare in the development and operation of this new hospital, which will employ a staff of approximately 150 to complement an extensive attending and consulting physician staff. In addition to its attending physicians, patients at the hospital have access to the services of specialists including pulmonologists, cardiologists, infectious disease specialists, general surgeons, gastroenterologists, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, nephrologists, podiatrists, psychiatrists and otolaryngologists.
